Are you tired of file attachment limitations imposed by email systems? Then Driveway an online file sharing service is for you. I don't know how many times I heard that growing up. Whenever I take pictures of someone I try not to use that line because I think it’s not cool and I try to use something that's a little more hip like “give me a big grin”. With my HP Photosmart M525 I take pictures of family, landscapes, anything that I might want to include in my blog. It’s a great camera but there are limitations as to the quality of close up pictures. Landscapes are no problem for this camera and close-ups aren't to bad as long as you don't get to close. For those really close-up shots a SonyCyber-shot DSC-W200 is the camera for me along with all the extras including a digital photo frame to display your best photos. Digital cameras are a very useful tool for blogging because one picture is worth a thousand words and I can use all the help I can get to make my blog a success.

I’ll confess I used to use another one of the reservation sites out there. The one known for the gnome, and I thought it was the best and I was very happy with it. So when I first heard about making Hotel Reservations thru another company I assumed it’d be like some of the others where it would be close but not worth switching over from a company that I had a several year relationship with. That was until I saw Road Trips which is a really neat feature that Hotel Reservations.com has that no other service I've visited has or does this well. I’m a last minute type person and being able to enter how far I want to drive and discover not only all of the hotels but suggested destinations in such an easy to use format has made me start using HotelReservations.com. Someone I love dearly is suffering from depression and I can attest that the treatment of mood disorders is not a simple matter. It is not so simple as diagnosing depression and writing a prescription for Zoloft or Effexor. The individual causes of depression are diverse and poorly understood. The antidepressant medications used to treat it are just as diverse and matching a drug with an individual is not a clear cut decision. Individual symptoms, co-existing illness, tolerance of side-effects, and other medications previously tried are just a few factors that must be considered.

Well it looks like the United States Mint has changed yet another bill, this time it's the $5 Bill. The United States Mint added, moved and deleted some features of the $5 Bill to make it harder to counterfeit. What they added was the color "purple" and moved the security strip from one location to another. What they removed was the ever popular oval frame that surrounded the President Lincoln and the Lincoln Memorial. I was a bit shocked but not surprised to find out that the 5 dollar bills were bleached and then were reprinted as fake 100 dollar bills. Apparently the features of the $5 and $100 were similar so the counterfeiters didn't have much trouble swapping the two. Well let's see how long it will be until the next face lift.

I read and found intersting that CNW Market Research meets with a group of would-be car buyers and plays a trick on them. Someone at the company, which specializes in auto sales trends, takes a Toyota Camry, removes any identifying logos, and tells them it's a new model from one of the U.S. based auto makers. Or it takes a domestic car and tells them it's a Toyota or another import model. Either way the results are the same. "If they think it's an American car, the perception of the vehicle falls dramatically. Detroit really gets a bum rap in the U.S."" said Mr. Spinella, vice president of CNW Market Research. The issue of public perception is coming into sharper focus for the big 3 as they try to compete and survive in this global economy.

The number of laptops sold will outpace desktop sales by 2009, Intel CEO Paul Otellini said at the Intel Developer Forum on Tuesday. The amount of money spent on laptops already tops notebooks: Mr. Otellini was talking about units sold. Yale University has agreed to return thousands of Inca artifacts taken from Peru's famed Machu Picchu citadel almost a century ago, Peru's government announced yesterday. The university said some of the artifacts will remain there temporarily for research, but did not specify how many. Peru demanded the collection back last year, saying it never relinquished ownership when Yale scholar Hiram Bingham III rediscovered Machu Picchu in 1911. All told he exported more than 4,000 artifacts including mummies, bones, and ceramics from the famed site. Under the agreement, Yale and Peru will cosponsor first a traveling exhibition featuring Bingham's pieces and later in a museum in Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital.

I read yesterday that Securities and Exchange Commission said that it charged four more former officers at Nortel Networks with engaging in accounting fraud. The agency previously charged Nortel's former CEO, CFO, and controller with directing the earnings management fraud in 2003 that manipulated the company's reserves and is seeking civil monetary penalties and officer and director bars. Give me a break these penalties are a joke! These people in 2001 and 2002 destroyed a company that supplied good paying jobs to 115,000 people and when it was over 85,000 plus were without jobs including me! They should be in a state prison with common criminals for a long time!

I read in the USA newspaper that China believes terrorism is the biggest threat facing next year's Olympics and has called for closer international cooperation to prevent possible attacks. "Although the general security situation for the Beijing Olympics remains stable, we face the challenges of terrorism, separatism, and extremism." Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang was quoted by the China Daily newspaper. Zhou proposed more information sharing between international security forces and the establishment of an early risk warning mechanism. Sound like China wants western technology and information to do their dirty work or is it just an excuse to see how the west handles security. I guarantee that China is far more ruthless in dealing with unwanted guest and doesn't need our security measures.

I enjoy shopping online rather than driving to a store and it is not very difficult to find great deals as well as free or reduced shipping if you are a savvy shopper. I read today that the Mexican Transporation Secretary announced that two Mexican tractor-trailers have delivered payloads to New York and South Carolina, becoming the first trucks to operate deep in the USA under a long delayed, NAFTA mandated program critized on both sides of the border. The trucks operated by Transport Olympic, brought steel and construction materials and will haul simular products from Arkansas and Alabama back across the border. The U.S. Transporation Department granted permission Thursday to Transportes Olympic as part of NAFTA. In turn, Mexico granted authority to Stagecoach Cartage & Distribution of El Paso to travel throughout Mexico. God help the traveling public now that unsafe trucks from Mexico are on U.S. highways.

PhotoHunt #74 Music
Several members of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash that occurred on October 20, 1977 three days after the release of this album Street Survivors. The crash killed singer/songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, vocalist Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. Other band members were injured, some very seriously. Lynyrd Skynyrd disbanded after the airplane tragedy. On the original pressing of the cover of Street Survivors was a photograph of the band engulfed in flames. MCA Records, out of courtesy, withdrew the sleeve and replaced it with a cover of the band striking a similar pose against a plain black background. I purchased this album in October 1977 and played it for the millionth time yesterday. It still rocks and is my entry for this weeks PhotoHunt: Music.

Recently here in Ohio there have been quite a few high school students who had problems passing the required graduation test. I am reading about Tecumseh a Shawnee Chief who fought bravely for his people and this is part of a speach that I beleive is true today as it was 200 years ago.

Girl High School Sports
I read in the USA newspaper that for the first time ever, more than 3 million girls participated in high school sports according to a survey by the National Federation of High School Associations. This is old news because at the school my childern attend girls participating in sports is exploding with soccer and volleyball accounting for the biggest increases. New Coke Bottle = Less Plastic
I read in the USA today where Coca-Cola launched a 20-ounce bottle for its colas that uses 5% less plastic. The bottle, which has ridges to aid gripping was introduced because of the growing scrutiny for plastic use and the fact that landfills are full of plastic bottles. Over a 4 day period I visited 3 metroparks in the Toledo Ohio area and walking the trails I noticed plastic bottles anywhere water flowed. So anything that can be done to reduce the amount of plastic in our environment is a good thing.

Toledo Minor Leage Team
Ryan and I went to the Toledo Mud Hens games over the Labor Day Weekend and we had a great time. The stadium was simply awesome and is a very bright crown in downtown Toledo. The Mud Hens won the game and afterwards there was fireworks that were really cool, much better than I anticipated. The night was very enjoyable and I would recommend that everyone check out this jewel.
